The City of Absecon is looking for an experienced individual for the role of Fire Official.  Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a New Jersey Fire Inspector Certification / License, through the NJ Division of Fire Safety (DFS) and possess a valid NJ Driver’s License.

Applicant must be able to:

  • Conduct fire inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement fire prevention strategies.
  • Educate the public about fire safety and prevention measures.
  • Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and building codes.
  • Review and approve fire safety plans and permits.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and activities.
