This presentation reflects our commitment to responsible planning and transparency. We appreciate everyone involved in this process.
Starting this year, the Absecon Police Departmet will be distributing an annual report summarizes activities and accomplishments for the previous year. These reports serve to provide transparency and accountability to the public and to the agencies that have oversite of the department like the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.

The City of Absecon has partnered with Hera Property Registry, LLC to administer its Foreclosure Property Registration program. In order to comply with the Ordinance, all Mortgagees/Trustees must register online via HERA Property Registry and pay a registration fee.

Existing historic landmarks like the Pitney House, Absecon Inn, United Methodist Church, Absecon Presbyterian Church, Odd Fellows Hall, and Absecon’s Historical Society Museum are just a few located in the center of town. King’s Highway (Shore Road) was built in 1716. The road to Robert Doughty's Mill (New Jersey Avenue) was built in 1800. The road to Samuel Cooper’s Ferry (Church Street) was built in 1821. Pitney Road was built 1833 by Dr. Pitney to reduce travel time to make house calls in Port Republic. Station Avenue and the Camden Atlantic Railroad were built in 1854. Absecon Boulevard was built in 1927.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month in the Municipal Complex Conference Room at 5:30 pm
The Finance Committee has legislative oversight responsibilities related to the financial, tax and insurance aspects of the City, as well as personnel matters. The Committee reviews and approves purchase orders and discusses budget issues.

The Public Safety Committee has legislative oversight responsibilities for al matters relating to the activities and operations of the Police Department, Communications Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management, and Ambulance Service, in addition to all matters of public safety within the City.

ABSECON’S ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE MAY 25, 2026
Absecon Community Affairs Committee, VFW Post 9462 and American Legion Post #28 invites you and your organization to attend our Annual Memorial Parade. The Parade will start at the American Legion, 560 New Jersey Ave. We are pleased to announce The Last Salute Honor Guard and Oakcrest Marching Ambassadors will again join the ranks of our parade. Please join our community to honor and celebrate those who gave all for America. As a reminder, this is a solemn and respectful event to honor fallen heroes.
Decorated Bike Brigade may line up by the Fire House. Judging will start at 8:30. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bikes. Please ensure bike riders do not get out of position, for the safety of parade participants. Parents are invited to ride with the children.
Antique and customized cars are welcome and can line up in the Elizabeth Ann Seton Church parking lot. Check in with the parade staff located in the American Legion parking lot upon arrival.
Remember to bring water with you. It may be hot on the route.
