Community Affairs Committee
Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month in Municipal Complex Council Chambers at 5:30 pm
The Community Affairs Committee has legislative oversight responsibilities for matters related to all civic, social and community groups in the City, including the Absecon Education Foundation, Library Board, Senior Center, AARP, Absecon Historical Society, Women’s Club, Ladies League, Absecon Garden Club, Lions, Rotary, and Parent Teachers Organization. The Committee also plans events.

Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is the largest organizational section of the Absecon Police Department. The Patrol Division is commanded by a Lieutenant who oversees four Patrol Squads. Each Patrol Squad is supervised by one Sergeant who is responsible for their patrol officers.
Sergeants and Patrol Officers assigned to the Patrol Division work a 12-hour rotating schedule which alternates between day and night shift every four weeks. On a daily basis, Patrol Officers on each squad are assigned to geographical areas known as “Wards”. Within the wards, officers respond to calls for service, enforce traffic laws, and conduct property checks. Officers interact with the community to build partnerships based on trust. They engage in proactive policing to reduce crime, creating a safe environment which enhances the quality of life in our community.
Officer assignments are data driven. A careful analysis of crime trends and quality of life issues dictate how and where resources are deployed on a daily basis to address concerns within the community.
Christmas in July Movie
On July 9, 2021, at 7:30 PM, come out to Heritage Park to enjoy a family night with Santa Claus and members of the Absecon Poiice Department. The movie Elf will be shown. While admission is free, we ask that you please consider donating a new unwrapped toy to help with APD's annual toy drive. Food will also be available for purchase at the concessions stand, with all proceeds going to support the toy drive. Bring a blanket or chairs for your comfort.
Heritage Park
Located at 699 Blenheim Avenue, behind the Municipal Complex.
A newly expanded bulkhead boasts a beautiful view of the park. Amenities include a walking path around the lake which is .6 miles, as well as a playground area and the 911 Memorial. A free Concerts in the Park series is held each summer on Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM.

Bicyclists, runners, and walkers alike can enjoy this shaded one-mile path that stretches from Morton Avenue to Pitney Road.
